Jimenez Lai

Jimenez Lai is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the USC School of Architecture, affiliated with Watt Hall in Los Angeles. He holds a BA (Hon.) and M.Arch from the University of Toronto. His work bridges architectural practice and cultural critique, emphasizing speculative design and interdisciplinary narratives.

Research & Awards: Lai’s practice Bureau Spectacular explores architectural fiction and spatial narratives. He authored Citizens of No Place, supported by a Graham Foundation grant. Notable awards include the Architectural League Prize, Lisbon Triennale Debut Award, and Art Basel’s Designer of the Future.

Teaching: Currently instructs advanced design studios including CRITICAL TOPICS IN ARCHITECTURE, ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN V, and GRADUATE ARCHITECTURE DESIGN I - PRINCIPLES.
