Jillian Broadbear is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Monash University and Head of Research & Innovation at Spectrum Personality Disorder Service (Eastern Health). She holds a BSc in Psychology and Pharmacology from Monash University, followed by a MSc and PhD in Behavioural Pharmacology from the University of Michigan. She has extensive postdoctoral experience at both institutions and previously served as a Lecturer in Monash's School of Psychology, teaching and leading the Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience program.
Her research focuses on brain-behaviour relationships, specializing in mental health, psychopharmacology, neuroendocrinology, and substance use. Current priorities include personality disorders and complex trauma, with recent work addressing geriatric BPD screening and neurostimulation therapies. She has led multiple research initiatives, including NHMRC grants and projects investigating MDMA and oxytocin effects.
Key contributions include developing clinical tools for BPD diagnosis in older adults and analyzing emergency department management strategies. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. She actively supervises PhD students via Monash’s SupervisorConnect portal.
