Jill Wieber Lens serves as the Dorothy M. Willie Professor in Excellence at the University of Iowa College of Law, joining the faculty in 2024 after prior appointments at the University of Arkansas School of Law and Baylor University School of Law. A leading legal expert in reproductive justice, her work centers on the legal treatment of stillbirth and pregnancy loss, profoundly shaped by her personal experience of her son Caleb's stillbirth at 37 weeks in 2017.
Her academic credentials include a BA from the University of Wisconsin—Madison (2002) and a JD from the University of Iowa (2005).
Professor Lens's research spans critical legal domains with particular emphasis on:
