Dr. Jill Nash is a Senior Lecturer in Advertising and Marketing Communications at Bournemouth University's Department of Communication & Journalism. She holds a PhD in Consumer Behavior from Manchester University (2004) and a BSc in Marketing (2001), with additional international education via an ERASMUS grant. Her research focuses on consumer behavior in advertising, particularly emotions' impact on decision-making, and spans commercial and public-good sectors.
Her recent work includes groundbreaking studies like the London Underground advertising impact project, collaborations with the RNLI on water safety campaigns, and interdisciplinary projects merging neurofeedback with marketing. She leads the MA Marketing Communications program and serves as Global Engagement Lead, leveraging her fluency in French for international academic partnerships.
Key research themes include gender dynamics in drowning prevention, affective computing applications in safety advertising, and social media's role in consumer decisions. Her methodology combines qualitative research with neuroscientific tools like OCOsense eyewear technology.
