Jiayu Pan is a Research Fellow at the Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge. She is affiliated with the BBP-lab (Behaviour and Building Performance) and the Sustainable Design Group. Her work focuses on data-driven approaches to sustainable design, environmental engineering, and urban spatial analysis. Current projects include the EU Horizon-funded HS4U initiative redesigning cruise ship interiors for health and safety.
Education: BSc in Urban Planning, Design & Management (UCL Bartlett, first-class honours); MPhil in Architecture & Urban Studies (Cambridge, Distinction). Research interests span hybrid workspaces, thermal comfort in low-income housing, urban densification impacts, and pandemic-resilient public spaces. She has pioneered frameworks for predicting occupancy patterns and evaluating green space risks during health crises.
Key affiliations include the Cambridge Sustainable Design Group and BBP-lab, collaborating on energy-efficient building systems and climate-resilient urban planning. Her work bridges architecture, data science, and public health to address global challenges like urban heat islands and post-pandemic workspace adaptation.
