Jianlin Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. His research focuses on financial economics, international economics, and macroeconomics, particularly examining how multinational enterprises and global banks transmit economic shocks via internal capital markets.

His work on uncertainty shocks in financial markets, including the U.S.-China trade war's heightened uncertainty, has been highlighted on the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas blog and presented at the SITE conference on Macroeconomics of Uncertainty and Volatility at Stanford. He also investigates tariff liberalization's pro- and anti-competitive effects, climate policy uncertainty, exchange rate pass-through, and fiscal policy estimation using stock returns.

Professor Wang has taught MBA and undergraduate students during his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley's Department of Economics and Haas School of Business. Prior to academia, he worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for three years.
