Jeļena Solovjova serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Individual and Team Sports, Latvian Academy of Sport Education, holding a PhD and actively contributing to sport science research. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through athlete health initiatives.
Her research focuses on injury prevention in swimmers, biomechanical analysis of stroke techniques, respiratory physiology enhancement through breathing exercises, and psychological factors affecting adolescent athletic performance. This specialization addresses critical gaps in aquatic sports safety and performance optimization.
Recent publications demonstrate consistent output in high-impact areas: 5 publications in 2024-2025 cover shoulder injury prevention (using Fisher Exact Test analyses), respiratory parameter improvements, and competitive anxiety correlations. Her work shows increasing emphasis on youth athlete safety and evidence-based coaching methodologies.
Dr. Solovjova has supervised one student and led five major projects including Nordic-Baltic coaching initiatives (NBUCE 2019-2022, Nordplus HZ 2017-2020) and national programs like 'Peldēt droši' (2019-2023). She currently serves as supervisor for the 2023-2027 project on quantitative swimming technique correction for 100m performance improvement.
Her external roles include Expert in Health Sciences at the Latvian Council of Science (2024-2027) and active conference participation, including scheduled presentations at the 2025 RSU International Research Conference.
