Jessie Darrell-Jarbadan is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Clark University, affiliated with the Becker School of Design and Technology. She holds an M.A. in Costume History and Design from Rhode Island College (2010) and a B.A. in Music from the University of Hartford (2001).
Her research focuses on textile history, identity expression through clothing, and cross-cultural fashion dynamics. She has pioneered antiracist pedagogical approaches in theatre education, as exemplified in her 2025 chapter 'Anti-Racist Pedagogy in Theatre' published in *Towards a community of antiracist praxis*. Her creative work includes prominent costume design for over 15 theatrical productions, including Brown/Trinity MFA program plays, the Gamm Theatre's *The Effect*, and landmark works like *Assassins* (Sondheim) and *12th Night*.
Her artistic collaborations span institutions including Brown University's Dance Department and the Gamm Theatre. Current projects emphasize intersectional representation in costume design and inclusive theatre practices.
