Jessica Premier is a Lecturer in the School of Curriculum, Teaching, and Inclusive Education at Monash University's Faculty of Education. She serves as Course Leader for the Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS) and Diploma of Higher Education (DoHE), and teaches in the Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching programs. Her career spans classroom teaching in primary/secondary schools and tertiary English language centers in Australia and Norway, shaping her research focus on EAL, literacy, and educational equity.
Research Interests: Jessica's work centers on English as an Additional Language (EAL), literacy education, and equity/inclusion in education. She actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through her research in languages, literacies, and TESOL.
Projects & Awards: She led TESOL training programs in Zhejiang Province (China) and received the 2023 Higher Education Academy Fellowship (FHEA). Recent articles explore multilingual pedagogy and social justice in education.
Activities: Organized conferences like the Diversity and Inclusivity in English Language Education Conference (2022–2024) and contributed to editorial work for TESOL in Context. Active in teacher education innovation through AARE symposiums.
