Jessica Porembka

Jessica Porembka, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Vice Chair of Strategy and Quality. She specializes in Breast Imaging, combining diagnostic expertise with direct patient care and multidisciplinary collaboration. Her roles include Medical Director of Parkland Breast Imaging and leadership in quality assurance at Parkland Health Radiology.

Dr. Porembka holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Yale University, an M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine, and completed Radiology residency and Breast Imaging fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. Her work focuses on reducing disparities in cancer screening, optimizing clinical care systems, and advancing patient-centered quality initiatives.

Research interests include understanding drivers of screening behavior, social determinants of health affecting screening adherence, and improving the screening experience through targeted interventions. She is actively involved in national discussions on breast imaging and population health management, serving on committees like the American College of Radiology’s Population Health Committee.

Dr. Porembka’s publications span imaging techniques, breast lesion management, and healthcare equity. She advocates for health equity through patient-centered care and leads initiatives to refine clinical workflows, ensuring high-quality, safe care delivery.
