David T. Porembka

David T. Porembka is a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine since 2017, with prior tenured professorships in Anesthesiology, Surgery, and Cardiology at the University of Cincinnati, and affiliations at Case Western Reserve, Michigan State, and Sanford University. His career spans clinical practice, research, and leadership in critical care medicine.

Recent work addresses tropical diseases and climate change impacts.

His publications highlight innovations in stress echocardiography, disaster management, and global health during the 2014 Ebola epidemic. Awards include the Laerdal Award (1995), multiple Presidential Citations (Society of Critical Care Medicine), and recognition in Best Doctors in America.
