معرفی
Dr. Jessica Poole is a GU Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from Griffith University (2018) and dual Bachelor degrees from the University of Iowa (Microbiology and Anthropology, 2011). Her research focuses on glycobiology and bacterial pathogenesis, particularly glycan-mediated interactions in infections caused by pathogens like Plasmodium, Haemophilus influenzae, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Education:
- PhD in Microbiology, Griffith University (2018)
- Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, University of Iowa (2011)
- Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, University of Iowa (2011)
Research Interests:
Dr. Poole investigates glycan recognition mechanisms in bacterial pathogens, exploring how glycans facilitate pathogen adhesion, invasion, and immune evasion. Her work spans malaria parasite entry into erythrocytes, gonococcal cervical epithelial cell interactions, and Haemophilus influenzae colonization dynamics. She applies glycan array technology and recombinant protein expression to identify novel therapeutic targets.
