Jessica Paul

Jessica Paul is a Lecturer in Primary Education and Course Lead for the Education Foundation Year at St Mary's University. She joined in 2022, delivering modules across undergraduate and work-based programs while supporting students through roles like personal tutor and lead link tutor during school placements. Her work emphasizes reflective practice and transitioning educators from primary teaching to higher education roles.

Before academia, she spent 17 years in primary schools in West London, including roles as Deputy Headteacher, focusing on teaching standards and leadership. She holds a BA Primary Education (QTS Hons) and additional qualifications such as a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice and NPQ Senior Leadership. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Her research explores reflective practice’s role in educators’ transitions to higher education roles, with an upcoming publication in St Mary's ReflectED. She actively mentors Early Career Teachers and contributes to staff development initiatives.

Outside academia, Jessica enjoys sports like gym classes, reading, and live music. She values collaboration and has led CPD programs to enhance student outcomes in schools and university settings.
