Kath Ezzeldin

Kath Ezzeldin is a Senior Lecturer in primary physical education at St Mary’s University, where she has served since 2005. She leads the BA Primary Education with QTS and the Education Foundation Year programmes. Her expertise focuses on primary physical education pedagogy, teacher training, and continuing professional development (CPD). She holds a BA (Hons) in Sports Science and History from Loughborough University, a PGCE, and an MA in Education.

Previously, Kath taught in Surrey and West London schools, holding roles such as Head of Year, Head of Department, and Head of Faculty. She served as a Foundation Governor of a local primary school for 12 years and chaired the governors for two years. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and has delivered CPD courses like the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Physical Education and School Sport, as well as collaborating with the Youth Sport Trust.

Her research emphasizes innovative teaching methodologies in physical education, including frameworks for game-based learning and collaborative networks among educators. She has presented at international conferences, focusing on topics such as community of practice development and sustainable pedagogical change.
