Lightfoot’s work explores the interplay between aesthetic response and intellectual inquiry in antiquity, particularly through her book Wonder and the Marvellous from Homer to the Hellenistic World (Cambridge University Press, 2021). She leads the Ourania Network for Astronomical Cultures in the Ancient World and investigates early Graeco-Roman cultural exchanges.
Her recent publications analyze topics such as Odyssean innuendos in Strabo, musical wonder in Homeric hymns, and Etruscan motifs in Aeschylean fragments. Lightfoot welcomes doctoral supervision inquiries in Greek literature and cultural history, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to ancient texts.
