Dr. Jessica Joustra is an Associate Professor of Religion and Theology at Redeemer University and Director of the Albert M. Wolters Centre for Christian Scholarship. She also serves as an Associate Researcher at the Neo-Calvinist Research Institute of Theologische Universiteit Kampen. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from Fuller Theological Seminary (2019), an M.Div. from Calvin Theological Seminary (2013), and a B.A. in Religion and Biology from Calvin College (2009).
Her research focuses on Christian ethics, Reformed theology, and the intersection of faith and culture. She has edited major works on Herman Bavinck’s ethical thought and co-edited a contemporary analysis of Abraham Kuyper’s writings. Her teaching spans Reformed worldview, modern theology, and ethics.
Her publications emphasize neo-Calvinist intellectual traditions and their application to contemporary issues, reflecting her commitment to bridging theological scholarship with societal engagement.
Dr. Joustra oversees the Religion and Theology programs at Redeemer and leads the Wolters Centre, which promotes interdisciplinary Christian scholarship. She actively contributes to academic networks in North America and Europe.
