Dr. Robert Joustra is a Professor of Politics & International Studies at Redeemer University. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Bath, an M.A. in Globalization Studies from McMaster University, and a B.A. in History and Political Science from Redeemer University College.
His research focuses on intersections of religion, politics, and international relations, including religious freedom, political theology, and global governance. He has authored/co-authored numerous books, including Calvinism for a Secular Age and The Religious Problem with Religious Freedom, and contributes commentary to outlets like The Globe and Mail and The Washington Post.
Dr. Joustra directs the Centre for Christian Scholarship at Redeemer and holds fellowships with the Institute for Global Engagement and the Center for Public Justice. His work bridges academic theory with practical applications in policy and faith-based advocacy.
