Jessica Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. She holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on public economics, labor economics, and the economics of child care markets.
Her education includes:

- B.S. Mathematics and Economics, University of Notre Dame (2011)
Professor Brown's research examines child care market dynamics, minimum wage effects on service quality, and impacts of public policies on family economic decisions. Her current projects analyze how information interventions affect insurance purchases and how pregnancy accommodation laws influence labor market outcomes.
Her publications address child care market dynamics during economic cycles, disability insurance design, and the educational impacts of COVID-19.
She has received multiple research grants and fellowships:
