Jesse Mobbs is a Research Fellow in the Department of Drug Discovery Biology at Monash University. He specializes in structural biology, molecular pharmacology, and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). His research focuses on understanding protein-ligand interactions, receptor biology, and enzyme mechanisms, with applications in drug discovery and immunology.
Key projects include leading the 'Discovery of a lead molecule for development into a non-hormonal male contraceptive' (2023–2024) and contributing to 'Harnessing Endogenous Opioids to Treat Gut Motility Disorders and Pain' (2023–2026). His work integrates structural biology techniques with pharmacological studies to elucidate mechanisms of disease and drug action.
Research interests span structural biology, immunology (e.g., psoriasis-related HLA-C antigen presentation), and G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) dynamics. He has published extensively on cryo-EM applications, receptor-ligand interactions, and enzyme inhibition mechanisms, contributing to advancements in drug design and molecular medicine.
