معرفی
Dr. Jess Baker is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Leeds' School of Earth and Environment, specializing in climate science with a focus on tropical ecosystems. She leads the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship project 'Climate Recovery and Adaptation potential of Forests in the Tropics (CRAFT)' and collaborates with the Met Office through initiatives like CSSP Brazil and AmazonFACE.
Education:
- PhD in Ecology and Global Change, University of Leeds
- MSc in Climate Change, University College London
- MA in Natural Sciences, University of Cambridge
Research Focus: Her work investigates land-atmosphere feedbacks in tropical forests, climate impacts of deforestation, water cycle dynamics, and model evaluation for climate predictions. She employs satellite data and ground measurements to assess forest-climate interactions and their role in mitigating heat extremes and sustaining water resources.
Awards:
- UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship (funding CRAFT project)
Affiliations: She is a member of the Institute for Climate and Atmospheric Science and maintains active collaborations with international research consortia including CSSP Brazil and Met Office AmazonFACE.
