Jerome Roos

Jerome Roos is a Fellow in International Political Economy at LSE, specializing in capitalism and its crises. His award-winning book Why Not Default? examines the structural power dynamics in sovereign debt crises. He is currently writing a history of global capitalism through the lens of recurring crises.

Roos regularly contributes to international media including The New York Times, The Guardian, and New Statesman. His research explores political economy, finance, crisis management, and social movements, with regional focuses on Latin America and Southern Europe.
