Jeremy D. Bailey is a Professor and the Sanders Chair in Law and Liberty at the University of Oklahoma. He directs the Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage and teaches in the Constitutional Studies program. His research focuses on early American political thought and constitutional controversies, particularly regarding executive power. Bailey holds a Ph.D. from Boston College and earned the 2004 E. E. Schattschneider Prize for his dissertation. He has authored influential books on Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and presidential power dynamics. His work appears in leading journals like the American Political Science Review and Publius. Bailey also co-edits the American Political Thought book series with Susan McWilliams Barndt.
