Dr. Jeong Hahm is a Senior Lecturer of Marketing at the Malaysia School of Business, Monash University Malaysia, with academic roles also at the University of Malaya (2022–2024) and previous affiliations with Rikkyo University and Waseda University. He holds a PhD in Sport Sciences (Specialisation in Sport Business Marketing) from Waseda University (2021), an M.A. in Sports Management from the University of San Francisco (2005), and a B.A. in Business Administration from Konkuk University (2000).
His research focuses on sport marketing, consumer behavior, and technological advancements in sport, including wearable devices and fan engagement. Notable projects include an International Research Collaboration Grant (2025–2026) with Seoul Metropolitan Government and Monash University Malaysia. He co-founded Meyvn Culture Incorporated (2018–2020), linking former athletes with the public, and has industry experience as Country Manager at TomTom Korea (2015–2017), General Manager at Descente Korea (2014–2015), and Head of Sports Sponsorship at Pernod Ricard Korea (2009–2014).
Research interests span sustainability in motorsport events, social media’s role in fan behavior, and the legacy of mega-sporting events. His work bridges academic theory with industry applications, emphasizing innovation in sport marketing strategies.
