Jens Timmermann is a Professor (Chair) of Moral Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, UK. He holds a distinguished academic career with prior roles including Reader, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer at St Andrews. His research focuses on Kantian ethics, legal philosophy, and ancient philosophy. Timmermann has been a visiting professor at Brandeis University, the University of Luxembourg, and others, reflecting his international academic engagement. He has received numerous awards, including the Junior International Kant Prize (2010) and fellowships from the Humboldt Foundation and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Education: Studied at Göttingen University and Balliol College, Oxford, where he held a Junior Research Fellowship.
