Prof Jens Timmermann is a Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy in the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies. He holds a Dr.phil from the University of Göttingen and has been elected to the Academia Europaea (2023). His research focuses on ethical theory, ancient philosophy, aesthetics, and Kantian philosophy, with recent work on moral dilemmas, the morality of humor, and theories of justice.
