Jens Schmidt

Professor Jens Schmidt serves as Chief Physician and Chair of Neurology at the Department of Neurology and Pain Therapy, Immanuel Clinic Rüdersdorf University Hospital of the Brandenburg Medical School (MHB). He has been affiliated with the institution since March 1, 2021, bringing extensive expertise in neuromuscular diseases and neuroimmunology to his dual role as clinician and academic leader.

His research focuses on neuromuscular diseases including conditions affecting peripheral nerves, skeletal muscle, and the neuromuscular junction, as well as autoimmune inflammatory diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. Professor Schmidt specializes clinically in myopathy, neuropathy, myositis, myasthenia gravis, various neuritis conditions (CIDP, MMN), and motor neuron diseases such as ALS and SMA.
