Professor Jenny Yiend is a Professor of Cognitive Psychopathology at King’s College London, based in the Department of Psychosis Studies within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. She holds editorial roles on Cognition and Emotion (since 2005) and is an international affiliate member of the American Psychological Association. Her research focuses on emotion processing biases in psychopathology, with current projects on digital therapies for mental health and attentional processing in psychosis. She has over 80 peer-reviewed publications across anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, and psychopathy.
- Education: PhD and first degree in Psychology from Cambridge University
Her leadership roles include directing the Institute of Psychiatry’s Master’s Programme in Mental Health Studies (2009–present), Head of Graduate Studies (Taught) for her Faculty, and founder/director of the University of London’s online BSc Psychology. She served as interim Dean of Education and holds grants from UKRI (ESRC, NIHR, MRC).
Recent initiatives include developing a revolutionary app for psychosis treatment (2023) and contributing to the IoPPN’s ‘Inspiring Women’ exhibition, celebrating female academic leaders.
