معرفی
Associate Professor Jenny Wang is the Head of the Cancer and Stem Cell Laboratory at the University of Sydney. She specializes in cancer stem cell biology and targeted therapies for blood cancers, particularly acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Her research focuses on understanding leukemia stem cell mechanisms to develop therapies that overcome treatment resistance and relapse. She holds an NHMRC Leadership Fellowship and has secured over $10.6 million in competitive grants from organizations like NHMRC, ARC, and Leukaemia Foundation.
Education: Completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School (2005–2011), where she published in Science. Established an independent stem cell lab at UNSW in 2013, relocated to USYD in 2021.
Research Interests: Targeting leukemia stem cells, epigenetic regulation, RNA-based interventions, immunotherapy, and preclinical drug testing. Her interdisciplinary work bridges stem cell biology and translational oncology to advance precision medicine.
Publications: Over 30 peer-reviewed articles in journals like Cancer Cell, Blood, and Nature Communications. Key contributions include identifying RSPO3-LGR4 signaling as a therapeutic target and discovering miRNA regulatory networks in cancer progression.
Grants & Collaborations: Partnerships with institutions like Columbia University and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Current projects include developing epigenetic therapies and RNA-based treatments for drug-resistant cancers.
Students & Team: Supervised over 20 PhD, Masters, and Honours students. Current lab members include postdocs Dr. Hassan and Dr. Ji, and research assistants Ms. Widjaja and Ms. Trajcevski. Former trainees have won multiple awards, including UNSW Dean’s Awards and Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fellowships.
