معرفی
Dr. Gillian Horne is a Clinical Senior Research Fellow at the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre, University of Glasgow. Her research focuses on hematological malignancies, particularly leukemia, with expertise in targeted therapies, stem cell biology, and precision medicine approaches. She maintains an active research profile with ongoing grant-funded projects and clinical collaborations.
Research Interests: Her work spans molecular mechanisms of leukemia, drug resistance in blood cancers, and development of novel therapeutic strategies. Key areas include BCR-ABL1-positive leukemias, PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway targeting, leukemia stem cell persistence, and CAR-T cell therapy implementation.
Publication Trends: Her recent articles (2020-2025) demonstrate strong focus on clinical trials for chronic myeloid leukemia, molecular targeting approaches in AML, and therapy optimization. Earlier work (2015-2019) established foundations in stem cell biology, diagnostic biomarkers, and treatment resistance mechanisms.
Grants and Funding:
- Isolating a CML-like patient group in Ph+ ALL (Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, 2023-2026)

- Novel SCLtTA/iMLL-AF9 murine model development (Tenovus Scotland, 2023-2024)
- Epigenetic therapy validation for AML precision medicine (Tenovus Scotland, 2019-2021)
- Molecular mutation profiling in mantle cell lymphoma (NHS Greater Glasgow, 2020-2021)
Laboratory and Teams: She collaborates extensively within the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre and with national/international hematology consortia, including Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group and Beatson Cancer Charity partnerships.
