Jennifer Wiebe is a Practitioner in Residence in the Forensic Science Department at the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, University of New Haven. She holds a graduate certificate in Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG) from the same institution. Her professional background includes work at Barbara Rae-Venter’s Firebird Forensic Group, where she contributed to identifying unidentified human remains and investigating violent crimes.
Her research focuses on applying genealogical methods to criminal justice, with expertise in forensic science, genetic genealogy, and cold case investigations. She maintains active involvement in professional genealogy communities through memberships and training programs:
- Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists
- Participant in ProGen professional development program
- Completed two institutes at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh
As a volunteer Search Angel, she reunites adoptees with biological families. She disseminates knowledge through her blog Jennealogie and conference presentations.
