Jennifer Wallis is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine and holds a Lecturer position in the Centre for Languages, Culture, and Communication at Imperial College London. She has been affiliated with Imperial since 2018, previously serving as Lecturer in Cultural and Intellectual History at Queen Mary University of London (2016-2018) and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford (2014-2016).
Her research focuses on the history of psychiatry, Victorian cultural history, and medical technologies. She co-authored *Anxious Times: Medicine and Modernity in Nineteenth-Century Britain* (2019) and co-edited *Sources in the History of Psychiatry* (2022). She also engages with film and music studies, blending historical scholarship with contemporary cultural analysis.
Wallis is actively involved in academic collaborations, including the Drinking Studies Network and the Network of Excellence in Air Quality. As a Mental Health First Aider, she supports staff and students' mental health. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, connecting historical research to modern medical and societal challenges.
