Jennifer Davey is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia's School of History and Art History. She holds roles as Deputy Head of School and Editor-in-Chief of History: The Journal of the Historical Association. Her research focuses on Victorian Britain, particularly female political influence and the relationship between Queen Victoria and her subjects. She has authored books such as Mary, Countess of Derby and the Politics of Victorian Britain (Oxford University Press, 2019) and is currently writing a book titled Queen and Country.
Teaching: She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on modern British history, including modules like Victorian Britain and We are not Amused: The Life and Times of Queen Victoria.
Administrative Experience: Since 2012, she has served as Employability Director, Deputy Admissions Director, and Course Director for BA History and MA Modern British History. She also coordinates university induction programs.
Contributions: Her work engages with UN Sustainable Development Goals through historical analysis of gender roles and cultural dynamics. She sits on the HA’s Higher Education Committee and contributes to academic publications like the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
