Jennifer Salk is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Dance at the University of Washington. She holds the Floyd and Delores Jones Endowed Chair in the Arts and has received prestigious awards including the Fulbright Specialist Roster Grant and the Distinguished Teaching Award.
Education: MFA from Ohio State University, BFA from University of Utah. She teaches contemporary technique, choreography, experiential dance history, and graduate seminars in teaching methods. Her research explores site-specific performance, spatial dynamics, and the intersection of art creation/destruction.
Affiliations include faculty roles at Staibdance Summer Dance Intensive (Italy) and frequent contributions to the National High School Dance Festival. She has performed internationally with artists like Mark Haim and David Dorfman, and her DVD Experiential Anatomy in Dance Technique is widely recognized. Past roles include Assistant Professor at University of South Florida and artistic director of her own NYC-based dance company.
Awards and fellowships highlight her impactful teaching and scholarship. She actively collaborates with global institutions and has presented at conferences such as the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.
