Jennifer Piazza-Pick serves as Assistant Professor of Voice within the Art, Design & Music Department of the College of Arts & Sciences at Queens University of Charlotte. An accomplished soprano praised for "passion and emotional depth," she maintains an active dual career in performance and scholarly research focused on women composers.
Her educational foundation includes:
- D.M.A. in Solo Voice from the University of Maryland
- Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Maryland
- M.M. in Voice Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music
- B.M. in Music Education and Voice Performance from Ithaca College
Dr. Piazza-Pick's research centers on music by women for early-stage singers, presented at major conferences including the International College Music Society Conference, National NATS convention, and National Opera Association National Conference. She co-founded Whistling Hens, a chamber ensemble that has commissioned 14 original works and 10 transcriptions since 2018, produced the Women Composers Coloring Book, and released the album "Reacting to the Landscape" featuring seven living American women composers. Their second album "Big Crass Monster" debuts in October 2025.
Her scholarly contributions have been featured in the Journal of Singing and NPR, with awards recognizing her artistry:

As a performer, she was a House Chorus member at Germany's Nationaltheater Mannheim (50+ productions) and has sung with Ithaca Opera, Long Beach Opera, Cincinnati Opera, and the U.S. Army Europe Band across Eastern Europe. She collaborates extensively with ballet companies and poets including San Antonio's poet laureate Carmen Tafolla, with work featured on NPR and Virginia Currents television.
