Lisa Williamson serves as Assistant Professor of Voice in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Ithaca College, a position she assumed in 2024. An acclaimed soprano, she has performed globally from Carnegie Hall to the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, and is praised by the Washington Post for her “silvery” voice and showstopping performances in operas such as The Little Prince and The Lion, the Unicorn and Me.

Williamson’s artistic research centers on voice performance and opera, with deep engagement in American art song traditions. She champions works by women and Black American composers, notably curating a 2017 recital at Yale’s Beinecke Library featuring Harlem Renaissance writers. Her repertoire spans Baroque to contemporary premieres, including world debuts in Bessie and Ma and James Primosh’s “Shadow Memory,” reflecting her commitment to underrepresented voices.

- Inaugural fellow of the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Future of Music Faculty Fellowship

Williamson’s teaching career spans the University of Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut State University, and Southern Connecticut State University.
