Jennifer Pankowski is an Associate Professor at the Pace University School of Education, where she coordinates Special Education programs in NYC. She holds professional certifications in special education and childhood education from the New York State Department of Education, along with a Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) facilitator credential.

Her research focuses on special education, autism spectrum disorders, and avatar technology applications for teacher training. She has pioneered simulation-based pedagogy combining traditional methods with mixed-reality avatars to enhance novice teacher skills in classroom management, implicit bias recognition, and inclusive practices.
Recent projects include grants like the Avatar Technology Training Program (2023–2026) and Supporting Temporary Teachers Through Mixed Reality Simulations (2022–2023). Her publications emphasize technology-driven solutions for students with disabilities and teacher preparedness.
She teaches courses such as ED 684: Classroom Management in Inclusive Settings, EDG 607: Supporting Positive Behavior, and TCH 302: Introduction to Special Education, reflecting her commitment to practical and policy-driven education.
