Jennifer Nordstrom

Jennifer Nordstrom is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Occupational Therapy at the School of Health Sciences, American International College (AIC). She holds an OTD from AIC (2021) and a BS in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University (1997). Her career spans 25 years as a practicing occupational therapist in acute care, NICU, ICU, neuroscience, cardiology, and orthopedics. She transitioned to academia in 2017 as adjunct faculty, became an Interim Instructor in 2020–2021, and has served as Assistant Professor since 2021.

Her teaching focuses on foundational OT skills, assistive technology, and NBCOT exam preparation. She instructs courses such as Kinesiology Lab, OT Process: Adults, and Comprehensive Exams. She is actively involved in academic governance, serving on the AIC Academic Assessment Committee.

Jennifer’s research interests include professional development, OT education, and assistive technology innovation. She emphasizes inclusive pedagogy, fostering diverse and authentic student environments. Professional memberships include the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), RESNA, and the National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT).
