Jennifer Moss

Jennifer Moss is a Professor of Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she has held this position since 2015. She is also a co-founder and exhibitions director of Sulfur Studios in Savannah, GA, and has served as an artist coordinator for The Sentient Bean (2014–2016) and co-curator of Exquisite Corpse Gallery (2009–2011). Her work spans fiber art, sculptural textiles, and material experimentation, often focusing on natural dyes, environmental themes, and material transformation.

Education includes an M.F.A. in Fibers from SCAD and a B.F.A. in Art from Western Michigan University. Her awards include the Complex Weavers Award (2013), Best in Show at Vegetable Lamb, A Cotton Story (2013), and recognition from the London International Creative Competition (2011). She has also received grants such as the Windgate Work Study Scholarship (2007) and the Emerging Artist Grant (2007).

Moss’s exhibitions include solo shows like Marked: Rusted Wovens (2019) and Emergent Geographies (2017), exploring themes of decay, environmental interaction, and material innovation. Her work has been featured in venues like the Foundry Art Center, the Appalachian Center for Craft, and the Society for Contemporary Craft. Publications include Dimensional Cloth (2018) and contributions to Connect Savannah and Nashville Arts Magazine.

Her research interests center on the intersection of textiles and environmental art, with a focus on sustainable materials and the transformative potential of natural processes. She actively engages in collaborative projects through Sulfur Studios and participates in regional and international art networks, including the College Art Association and Surface Design Association.
