Sara Rabinowitz

Sara Rabinowitz is a Professor of Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2015, where she advises students and contributes to departmental committees. She previously held visiting faculty roles at the University of Oregon (2010–11), Cleveland Institute of Art (2008–10), and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC, 2007–08).

Her expertise spans textile design, fiber arts, and collaborative practices, with courses on woven structures, pattern design, and interdisciplinary art. She integrates digital/analog techniques (Photoshop, Illustrator, JaqCAD) and has led community projects and curatorial initiatives.

Rabinowitz has participated in grants and special projects, including residencies at Airie (Everglades National Park, 2015) and curatorial collaborations like Department of Flux (2007). Her work emphasizes material innovation and social engagement.
