Kimberly English

Kimberly English is a Research Fellow in Craft/Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. She runs the Tabby Studio weaving residency in Canton, North Carolina, and her artistic practice explores intersections of southern culture, survival, industry, and interdependence between land, machines, and people.

• Alumni of Savannah College of Art and Design (undergraduate textiles) and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MFA in Studio Art, 2018)
• Current Windgate Emerging Artist Fellow specializing in fiber arts
• Exhibited internationally at Spartanburg Art Museum, New Bedford Art Museum, Delaware Contemporary, and other institutions
• Focus on mythological narratives about southern identity and material relationships
