Professor Jennifer Lau is a Professor of Youth Resilience and Co-Centre Lead of Psychiatry and Mental Health at Queen Mary University of London. She holds a PhD in Psychology from King’s College London and has held roles at the National Institute of Mental Health (US), University of Oxford, and King’s College London. Her research focuses on mechanisms and interventions for child and adolescent anxiety, depression, and loneliness, with a recent emphasis on social connections and resilience in vulnerable populations. Funded by UKRI, her work bridges basic science and clinical practice, co-developed with young people. She leads the Youth Resilience Unit and previously founded the Researching Emotional Disorders and Development Lab at Oxford.
