Education & Affiliations:
- King’s College London (2013–present): Research Fellow & Programme Manager
- UCL Institute of Child Health (prior to 2013): Research roles
Research Interests:
Dr. Chandler’s research examines developmental trajectories of autistic individuals, co-occurring mental health conditions, and emotional regulation. She investigates how school environments and institutional deprivation impact neurodivergent youth, with a focus on participatory research models. Key themes include:
- ADHD and autism comorbidity
- Longitudinal psychiatric stability
- Emotion regulation interventions
- Autism arising from institutional deprivation
Articles Trends: Recent work emphasizes validation of self-report measures for mental health, qualitative analysis of neurodivergent youth experiences, and comparative studies of autism etiology. Collaborations with the Experimental Psychopathology and Neuro-Development (ExPAND) group underpin much of this research.
Awards & Grants: Currently leading the RE-STAR programme (UKRI MRC-funded), with no listed individual awards.
Advising & Grants: Manages interdisciplinary grants focusing on participatory translational science. Co-developed methodologies for neurodivergent youth involvement in research design.
Labs & Teams: Core member of the ExPAND Group, collaborating on projects like ‘My Emotions and Me’ within RE-STAR. Involved in the BASIS cohort studies on infant development.
