Johnny Downs

Johnny Downs is a Senior Clinical Lecturer (Honorary Consultant) at the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He leads the Centre for Translational Informatics' Child and Adolescent theme and contributes to the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Mental Health.

His work spans four domains: patient portals, NLP in clinical records, data integration, and remote technology implementation. Recent projects include OPTIMA (ADHD parenting app), ART-transition (MRC-funded ADHD remote monitoring), and mental health data linkage studies.

Scientific awards include the MRC Research Training Fellowship (2014-2017). Notable grants: £7M for population mental health research (2024), £2.5M for ADHD transition studies (2023).
