Jennifer King

Jennifer King is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Rider University. Her academic focus centers on Counseling Psychology, with a strong emphasis on addressing health disparities, multiculturalism, and social justice. She integrates her clinical therapy experience into teaching, emphasizing topics like disordered eating, depression, relationship dynamics, and identity development.

Dr. King’s research examines how sociocultural factors—including racism, sexism, gender norms, and social networks—affect young adult women’s mental and physical health. She also explores activism and White therapists’ racial identity development. Her clinical specialties include body image concerns, family-of-origin conflicts, and identity-related challenges.
