Dr. Regine Talleyrand Abrams is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Program within the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University. A licensed psychologist in Maryland, her work addresses mental/physical health disparities in racially/ethnically diverse communities through culturally responsive counseling frameworks.

Her research focuses on:
- Racial identity and acculturation stressors
- Eating disorders/body image concerns in people of color
- Social justice integration in counselor training
- Mental health access for undocumented immigrants
- Mentoring dynamics in counseling professions
- Qualitative methodologies (CQR, grounded theory)
Recent publications highlight sociocultural drivers of body image distress in men of color and pandemic-related mental health inequities. She also conducts community-based qualitative studies with undocumented Latinx youth populations in Northern Virginia.
