Liz Abrams is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Psychology department at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), affiliated with the School of Professional Psychology and Health. Her research focuses on qualitative methodologies, grassroots activism, LGBTQIA+ communities, and feminist-multicultural psychologies. She holds a PhD from the University of Utah (2014) and has extensive postdoctoral training in multicultural counseling.

Teaching focuses on multicultural counseling, trauma, and clinical practice. Grants include a 2018 Saint Mary’s College award for research. Her activism spans LGBTQIA+ advocacy and anti-oppression work, with a commitment to engaged pedagogy.
