Dr. Kendra Nickerson (she/her) serves as the Associate Director and Training Director at Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) at Loyola Marymount University. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary (School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy) and has been a licensed psychologist since 2006. Her clinical focus includes identity development, trauma, multicultural psychology, and the integration of spirituality with psychological practice. She emphasizes creating affirming spaces for underrepresented groups, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, students of color, and first-generation college students.
Her therapeutic approaches blend psychodynamic, interpersonal, acceptance and commitment, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. She has been at LMU since 2007, dedicating most of her time to training and supervising doctoral psychology students while maintaining clinical work with students.
