Valerie Pacheco serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Marriage & Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College's Pasadena campus. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience working across diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in multiple settings.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor's in Psychology and Spanish from Loyola Marymount University (2009)
- Master's in Counseling with emphasis in community mental health from Loyola Marymount University (2013)
Specializing in trauma therapy, Pacheco provides services to bilingual and Spanish monolingual individuals throughout Sonoma County and Los Angeles County. Her professional philosophy embodies Loyola Marymount University's mission of 'the education of the whole person, service of faith, and the promotion of justice,' with a strong advocacy focus on the Latinx community.
Through Humanidad Therapy and Education, a non-profit organization, she has expanded her impact by teaching and sharing clinical expertise within the Latinx community, bridging clinical practice with community education to make mental health resources accessible to underserved populations.
