Ekta Kumar

Dr. Ekta Kumar is a Clinical Assistant Professor (Part-Time) in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at USC and Senior Director of Culture and Engagement. She provides therapy services at USC's Counseling and Mental Health center with specialized expertise in multicultural psychology, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care.

Her clinical approach integrates interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and dialectical behavior therapies within a multicultural and trauma-informed framework. She actively advocates for transgender students through gender-affirming therapy and surgical recommendation letters.
