Keiana Winters

Keiana Winters is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School, affiliated with the College of Graduate and Professional Studies. She focuses on mentoring students and integrating developmental supervision into her teaching philosophy.

• Education: B.S. in Psychology from Western Illinois University; M.S. in Counseling from Saint Xavier University; Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University.

Dr. Winters specializes in trauma counseling, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and multicultural counseling for veterans and diverse populations. Her research explores intersections of racial identity, military service, and post-deployment reintegration, with a focus on gender and ethnic identity.

Her work spans counseling for depression, anxiety, addictions, and compulsions, with certifications in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Level 2) and trauma specialization. Notably, her dissertation analyzed the predictive relationship between Black racial identity and military identity in post-9/11 veterans' reintegration.
